Meet the Visionaries – Kaushalya & Raina

Kara Couture is the creative brainchild of a passionate mother-daughter duo — Kaushalya and Raina.

Kaushalya began her journey as an ethnic wear designer several years ago, driven by a deep-rooted love for traditional fashion. Her vision and commitment laid the foundation for what would soon become a thriving brand. She was later joined by her daughter, Raina, a postgraduate in Microbiology with an M.Sc. degree.

Although Raina pursued science academically, her true calling echoed her mother’s — designing ethnic wear. Fueled by this passion, she pursued a formal education in fashion and earned her designer’s degree from the Idea Institute of Fashion.

Together, Kaushalya and Raina have nurtured and built Kara, a name now synonymous with exclusive ethnic fashion. Interestingly, the brand name “Kara” is a blend of their names — Kaushalya and Raina — symbolizing their joint creativity and commitment.

Their store in Kalyan Nagar, often bustling with loyal clientele, proudly displays the plaque:
“Kara – A Mother-Daughter Creation.”
